Hamilton County settles lawsuit over deputy's baptism during traffic stop for $100,000.
Hamilton County has reached a $100,000 settlement in a lawsuit involving a deputy who baptized a woman during a traffic stop. The settlement, pending approval from the County Commission, resolves claims against former deputy Daniel Wilkey, who was indicted on 44 charges in 2019, including rape, assault, and official oppression, which were later dismissed. Shandle Riley, the woman baptized, passed away while the lawsuit was ongoing.
