French climber Benjamin Vedrines summited Pakistan's K2, the world's second-highest mountain, in a record-breaking 10 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, according to his team. Vedrines, who attempted the summit in 2022 and had to turn back due to hypoxia, described his achievement as "very symbolic" and said it allowed him to "reconcile with the mountain by doing things with maturity."
