British Columbia's energy provider, BC Hydro, has announced a $5.8 billion investment in capital spending for electricity infrastructure to serve the Southern Interior region. This investment aims to address the growing energy needs in the Okanagan area as it continues to expand. The funds will be allocated for dam safety equipment replacements and improvements to BC Hydro facilities, according to Josie Osbourne, Minister for Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation.
