2022 ambush in rural Australia by Christian extremists killed two police officers; inquest to examine weapon acquisition and officer training.

Constable Randall Kirk testified in an inquest that he was unaware of the attackers' positions during a 2022 ambush by three Christian extremists in rural Australia, which led to the deaths of two police officers. The Trains, who were conspiracy theorists and hated police, were killed during a six-hour siege after firing at police vehicles. The inquest, set to last five weeks in Brisbane, will examine the legal acquisition of the Trains' weapons and the training and equipment of the slain officers.
