Vedanta Nico, a primary nickel producer, has partnered with US-based AEsir Technologies to develop and commercialize nickel-zinc batteries for critical infrastructure, 5G telecom, and electric vehicle chargers. The collaboration aims to meet the surging global demand for nickel in batteries, projected to increase from 1.5 million tons in 2020 to 500,000 tons by 2025, driven by the expanding electric vehicle market.
