3,000 seagulls invade UK town near landfill site, causing noise, pollution, and property concerns.
30 miles from the coast, a UK town in Hyndburn, Lancs, has been invaded by a swarm of up to 3,000 seagulls, causing disruptions and concerns over property devaluation. The birds flock to a nearby landfill site, which has led to noise and visual pollution, as well as bird droppings on houses, cars, and gardens. Locals have compared the situation to Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 horror film, The Birds.
