Papua New Guinea's Noan Pakop appointed as new Director-General of Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA).

Papua New Guinea's Noan Pakop has been appointed as the new Director-General of the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) by the Forum Fisheries Committee (FFC) Ministerial Meeting. With over 30 years of experience in fisheries management, Pakop will succeed Dr. Manu Tupou-Roosen and is expected to take office in November 2024. This appointment is a significant milestone for Papua New Guinea, as no Papua New Guinean had held this position in the agency established in 1979.
