New South Wales (NSW) plans to introduce an Australia-first Portable Rental Bonds Scheme, allowing millions of renters to digitally transfer their bond to their new home by 2025. This upgrade aims to reduce financial stress during home relocation and improve cashflow for renters. The NSW government also plans to pursue laws to scrap no-grounds evictions and require landlords to have valid reasons for evictions in both periodic and fixed-term leases.
