Nigeria and the US signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on a Commercial and Investment Partnership at the 2024 AGOA Forum in Washington DC. The agreement, signed by Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite, Nigeria's Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo, focuses on sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, sports, and digital and creative economy, with provisions for review and revision. The MOU aims to deepen bilateral commercial and investment ties, enhance business environments, facilitate private sector-led trade and investment projects, and establish structures for cooperation.
