A lost eclectus parrot named Poppy in Lake Illawarra had residents hearing Facebook notifications without receiving messages. Poppy's mimicking of the Facebook ping led to confusion and locals sharing her location. Her owner, Tarra Dawes, searched for her, and with help from social media, found Poppy in a high tree, but was unable to coax her down, despite contacting WIRES and the RSPCA.
