Iowa has launched the Iowa Mobile ID app, a digital version of its driver's licenses/state-issued IDs, available for free on smartphones. The app allows residents to carry their IDs securely and privately, and can be used like a physical ID, displaying an encrypted QR code to verify age/identity. Compatible with various smartphones, it's becoming an acceptable form of ID verification in the state.
