Hyderabad CCS police filed a case against former Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, two senior commercial tax officers, and two others for alleged GST violations involving tax evasion of over Rs 1,000 crores. The case includes IIT Hyderabad professor Sobhan Kumar and Pilanto Technologies Pvt Ltd. A forensic report revealed unauthorized transfer of commercial department data to a third party. The complaint was lodged by K Ravi Kanuri, Joint Commissioner (CT), on July 26, citing Rs 400 crore evasion in 11 cases masked by IIT Hyderabad.
