The High Court will rule on the legality of an emergency puberty blocker ban, imposed by former UK Shadow Health Secretary, Victoria Atkins. The ban restricts the prescription of puberty blockers from European or private prescribers and limits NHS provision to within clinical trials. TransActual, a campaign group, and an anonymous minor challenged the decision, with the Department of Health and Social Care and the Department of Health in Northern Ireland defending the claim. Health Secretary Wes Streeting has expressed caution regarding a permanent ban due to fear and anxiety.
