Bharti Airtel re-farms mid-band spectrum for 5G expansion, pilots standalone tech in India.

Bharti Airtel, a leading Indian telecom company, is re-farming its existing mid-band spectrum to accommodate growing 5G traffic demand. The re-farming will expand 5G services on 1800, 2100, and 2300 MHz bands, improving indoor coverage and browsing speeds for customers. Airtel has also successfully piloted standalone technology in Rewari, Chennai, and Bhubaneswar, making its network the first in India to run on both standalone and non-standalone modes.
