West Bengal government plans to raise liquor and beer prices to boost state excise collection.
West Bengal government considers increasing liquor and beer prices in order to surpass the targeted growth in state excise collection by the end of the current financial year (2024-25). New prices will be determined after evaluating expressions of interest (EOI) to evaluate existing production costs of liquor and beer brands. EOIs were previously sought in February 2023 and before that as well.
