In a remote farming community near Uganda's border with Congo, a skit portraying a domestic violence event was staged for villagers, highlighting the prevalence of abuse against women. Signed pledges are now being used to curb domestic violence in the region. Eva Bulimpikya, who participated in the skit, revealed her own real-life experience with domestic violence, stating she was once slapped so hard it impaired her hearing.
