South Sudan achieved its first Olympic victory by defeating Puerto Rico 90-79 in their Paris Olympics opener. Carlik Jones scored 19 points for South Sudan, which qualified as Africa's top finisher in last year's World Cup. Puerto Rico led in the first half, but South Sudan took control in the second half, building a 13-point lead with minutes remaining. South Sudan will next face the U.S. on Tuesday.
