North East Link agency refuses to disclose taxpayer spending on private schools, despite $8m payment known.

The North East Link agency refuses to disclose how much taxpayer money has been spent on payments to private schools like Trinity Grammar, Marcellin, and Carey Baptist, despite an $8m payment made to one school being publicly known. The state government-run project, facing criticism for lack of transparency, is part of the Big Build and connects the M80 in Greensborough and Eastern Freeway in Bulleen. The North East Link cost has escalated to $26bn, $10bn more than the previous estimate.
