On Friday, July 26, the community of Crofton was alarmed by a series of deliberately set fires, with the local fire department responding to at least five incidents in the small seaside village. Fires were set behind Crofton Elementary School, under some shrubs on Lois and Pauline Streets, near the community boat launch, at a park beside the ferry terminal, and in a garbage can at the Crofton Seawalk entrance.
