French cyclist Pauline Ferrand-Prévot won Olympic gold in women's cross-country mountain biking at the Paris Olympics, finishing 1:26:02 ahead of Haley Batten (USA, silver) and Jenny Rissveds (Sweden, bronze). After previous Olympic disappointments, this marked her first Olympic victory. Ferrand-Prevot plans to retire from mountain biking to focus on her road racing career and aims to win the Tour de France.
