Adani Group plans to commission its first phase of a $4bn PVC project by December 2026, entering the petrochemicals sector in India. The sector experiences a supply-demand mismatch, with India's annual PVC demand at 4mn tonnes and domestic production capacity at 1.5mn tonnes. Adani Enterprises, the group's flagship firm, will set up a petrochemical cluster in Mundra, Gujarat, to establish a PVC plant with a 2mn tonne capacity.
