Yellowstone National Park raises its fire danger level to "VERY HIGH" due to recent wildfire activity and lightning-initiated fires. Stage 1 fire restrictions began on July 27, prohibiting backcountry campfires and charcoal fires, while permitting designated campsites' fire rings, portable gas stoves, and lanterns in areas cleared of flammable materials. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas.
