42-year-old Tuscaloosa woman, Erica Lasha Prewitt, pleaded guilty to defrauding the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) by falsely claiming her fictitious business employed 30 people and received a $96,875 loan in August 2020. She did not own or operate a business and did not use the money to retain workers during the pandemic. Prewitt faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
