1,655 patients of UAB School of Nursing had their protected health information exposed in a study recruitment postcard. The postcards contained patients' first and last names, addresses, and inferred breast cancer diagnoses. UAB has informed the affected patients of the breach and apologized, reiterating its commitment to patient privacy and the steps being taken in response.
