Single-engine firefighting plane crashes in Oregon, killing pilot; third SEAT loss this year.

A single-engine firefighting plane has crashed in Oregon, killing the pilot. The SEAT (single-engine aerial tanker) was assisting in fighting a wildfire north of Burns when it failed to return before sunset from a water-dropping mission. This is the third loss of a SEAT this year, following incidents in Montana and New Mexico. Single Engine Air Tankers can hold up to 800 gallons of retardant or water and are used in wildland fires.
