Illinois enacts new law for weather radios in post-2023 manufactured homes due to severe tornado season.

Illinois has passed a new law (HB5238) requiring weather radios in manufactured homes built after 2023, in response to the state's severe tornado season. The National Weather Service states that these homes are not safe and recommends at least two ways of severe weather notification. The law does not apply to traditional homes but encourages them to install weather radios for added safety.
