Hungary plans to let its Paks nuclear power plant temporarily exceed the Danube water temperature limit due to security of supply reasons. The plant's cooling water relies on the Danube, which must be used below 30°C. With climate change pushing water temperatures above the limit, the energy ministry proposes allowing temporary exceedances with the minister's approval, to prevent operational shutdowns.
