West Texas summer heat safety tips: As temperatures rise, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) advises playing it safe at state parks and lakes. Last year, TPWD responded to over 100 heat-related incidents at state parks alone. This year, 51 heat-related incidents have been reported from January 1st to date.
