2 HDB flat owners fined S$700 each for high-rise littering; first convictions under the Environmental Public Health Act's presumption clause.

Singapore: Two HDB flat owners were fined S$700 each for high-rise littering after they couldn't prove they weren't responsible within a given time frame. This marks the first convictions for high-rise littering under the presumption clause, introduced July 1, 2023, as part of the Environmental Public Health Act. The presumption clause makes it so that flat owners and tenants cannot throw objects from their units without facing presumed guilt.
