On Global Tiger Day, Thailand's Western Forest Complex (WEFCOM) tiger population has tripled, reaching 143 from 41 in 2007. This increase was observed in a study led by Thailand's Department of National Parks (DNP) and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), published in Global Ecology and Conservation. The recovery is also observed in prey populations like deer and wild cattle, which have doubled in Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary.
