Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat assisted three adults on a 32ft cruiser with engine failure due to overheating. The vessel was safely towed to Garrykennedy Harbour by the RNLI, and Killaloe Coast Guard land and water units provided support. Lough Derg RNLI advises boat users to service engines before setting out and to contact the Coast Guard in case of emergencies.
