Dodgers player Freddie Freeman leaves team due to son's hospitalization for transient synovitis.
Dodgers player Freddie Freeman left the team to be with his ill 3-year-old son, Maximus, who has been hospitalized with transient synovitis, an inflammation of the hip joint. Freeman's son experienced severe pain and was unable to sit or stand, following a viral infection during the All-Star week. The Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, does not know how long Freeman will be away from the team.
