Zimbabwe's government removes VAT on livestock, including rabbits, to encourage formal meat trade and support farmers.

Zimbabwe's Commercial Rabbit Breeders Association (Zicorba) welcomes the government's decision to remove Value-Added Tax (VAT) on livestock. Finance minister Mthuli Ncube has proposed to exempt live cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, and bovine semen from VAT to encourage formal trade of meat products. This move is expected to reduce costs for farmers, especially small-scale and emerging ones, and stimulate growth in the agricultural sector.
