17-year-old driver Jade Quam struck 42-year-old Jennifer Buls-Vrba in a fatal pedestrian crash in Mason City on July 24, around 6:12 p.m. Buls-Vrba was hit in the 1500 block of Plymouth Road and died at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. The Iowa State Patrol is continuing its investigation, and the Mason City Police Department, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Office, and Mason City Fire Department assisted at the scene.
