In West Bengal Assembly, BJP MLAs staged a walkout over the Speaker's decision not to allow a motion demanding an apology from senior minister Firhad Hakim for his alleged comments at a religious program. The Speaker, Biman Bandyopadhyay, rejected the BJP's adjournment motion seeking a debate on the Kolkata Mayor's remarks. BJP Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari criticized the Speaker for politically motivated rejection of the motion.
