Telangana's per capita income has nearly doubled the national average, reaching Rs 3.47 lakh. The state's GSDP increased by 11.9% to reach Rs 14.64 lakh crore. Agriculture and allied sectors saw a 4% growth in GVA, while the industrial sector grew by 10.1%, and the services sector recorded a 14.6% increase in GVA. However, Telangana's total debt surged from Rs 72,658 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 6,71,757 crore in 2023-24, resulting in a rise in per capita debt from Rs 20,251 to Rs 1,76,360. The Economic Survey emphasizes the need for fiscal reforms to balance spending and revenue generation, reducing dependence on borrowing to ensure long-term economic stability.
