Sen. Tammy Baldwin introduces the Hospital Stability and Health Services (HSHS) Act to require 90-day notice for hospital closures and ensure patient safety.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin introduces new legislation, the Hospital Stability and Health Services (HSHS) Act, to protect communities from sudden hospital closures. The Act would require hospitals closing to notify the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at least 90 days in advance and not discontinue services to patients unless continuation would be dangerous. This follows the recent closure of two HSHS hospitals and over a dozen other clinics in Wisconsin, leaving residents struggling to access healthcare services.
