In the first half of 2024, Zimbabwe's foreign currency remittances rose by 16.5% to a record $1.2bn, driven by the diaspora, and impacting the country's current account balance positively. Total foreign currency receipts increased by 9.5% to $6.2bn, mainly due to export receipts. The current account recorded a surplus of $19.2m, a significant improvement from the $13.8m deficit in the same period last year.
