Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiates construction of the world's highest Shinkun La tunnel in Kargil, Ladakh, for all-weather connectivity and military mobility.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually initiated the first blast for the construction of the Shinkun La tunnel project in Ladakh's Kargil on July 26. Once completed, the 4.1-kilometer twin-tube tunnel, located at an altitude of around 15,800 feet, will be the world's highest and is intended to provide all-weather connectivity to Leh. The tunnel will enhance military mobility and logistics support for forces stationed in the Ladakh sector by offering a third connectivity option.
