Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that India has the highest trade deficit with China, but the gap has narrowed at a slower pace from 2014-15 to 2023-24 compared to the previous 10 years. The trade deficit grew by 42.85% CAGR during 2004-05 to 2013-14, while it decreased to 6.45% CAGR during 2014-15 to 2023-24. India's exports to China in 2023-24 reached USD 16.65 billion.
