India's Supreme Court upheld the division bench ruling, dismissing Maran's appeal and remanding the SpiceJet refund dispute case back to a new single bench.
The Supreme Court of India has upheld a division bench ruling in favour of SpiceJet, dismissing an appeal by Kalanithi Maran, the promoter of Sun Group and Kal Airways, who challenged a Delhi high court order in his favour. The division bench had overturned a previous single-bench order directing SpiceJet to refund ₹270 crore ($34.2m) to Maran in a dispute over an arbitral award. The case has been remanded back to a new single bench for fresh consideration.
