India and the US signed a Cultural Property Agreement during the 46th World Heritage Committee session, aiming to repatriate stolen Indian antiquities and strengthen cultural ties. Under the pact, the US will proactively offer items for repatriation, establish import controls, and intercept smuggled goods at borders, returning them promptly. Since 2014, over 400 antiques have been returned to India.
