High Court orders Co Carlow couple to pay English businesswoman €800,000 in damages for unpaid loans related to Emerald Equestrian Centre.
The High Court has ordered a Co Carlow couple, James Buckley and his wife Paula, to pay English businesswoman Caroline Teltsch €800,000 in damages for loans they received from her between 2010 and 2018. The Buckleys used the money for various purposes, including refurbishing and running the Emerald Equestrian Centre in Enfield, Co Kildare. However, Ms Teltsch, who also owned the centre, claimed she never received any money back from the couple. The judge described the case as a "very unfortunate saga" for Ms Teltsch.
