85,105 hectares of potentially endangered forests in Malaysia's Sabah and Sarawak states are advertised for sale on online marketplaces, according to a report by climate watchdog Rimbawatch. The watchdog found that 54,629 hectares of these lands can be classified as "undisturbed forest" and a further 30,476 hectares as "degraded forest," putting them at risk of deforestation if the sales are successful.
