French startup Gourmey submits EU application for cultivated foie gras made from duck cells.

Gourmey, a French startup specializing in cultivated meat, has submitted the first EU application for cultivated meat, specifically a foie gras product made from duck cells. The company aims to make the product available for high-end European chefs by 2026, following a two-year evaluation process involving the European Food Safety Authority and EU member countries. Gourmey has also applied for market approval in the UK, Switzerland, Singapore, and the US.
