Magdalena Grono has been appointed as the new EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, succeeding Toivo Klaar. She will focus on strengthening EU relations with Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, and work on resolving ongoing conflicts, particularly the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute. Grono has over 25 years of experience in foreign policy and conflict resolution, and will take up her duties on September 1st for an initial period of 12 months.
