Brazil apologizes for human rights violations against Japanese immigrants during post-WWII internment.

Brazil's government has issued an apology for human rights violations in the persecution and internment of Japanese immigrants following World War II. The Amnesty Commission of Brazil's Ministry of Human Rights approved the apology, acknowledging rights violations in two cases: evicting Japanese immigrants from their homes in Santos and incarcerating people of Japanese descent on Anchieta Island.
