100-acre grass fire in Altamont Pass near Livermore closed parts of I-580 on Thursday night, with 0% containment as of 11 p.m. The fire began as a car fire on westbound I-580 and spread to vegetation, causing Cal Fire to advise avoiding the area and work to control the fire at a moderate speed. No structures are threatened and the cause of the car fire is unknown.
