A brush fire in Maui's Waiehu area has prompted voluntary evacuations for residents of Wailuku Country Estates, Puuohala Village, and Waiehu Terrace. The fire, estimated at 19 acres, broke out near Kahekili Highway at 2:17 a.m. and is being fought by Maui Fire Department. Kahekili Highway is closed, and a temporary evacuation point has been set up at Keopuolani Skate Park.
