60-year-old marathon swimmer Jim "The Shark" Dreyer from Michigan is attempting a third solo swim across Lake Michigan in August, covering 82.9 miles from McKinley Beach in Milwaukee to City Beach in Grand Haven. Dreyer plans to tow over 200 pounds of supplies and will have a rescue boat on standby in case of emergency. This swim is in celebration of the 25th anniversary of his first Lake Michigan crossing in 1998.
